10"x12" Wood, paper, & string.

This flapping mobile is based on a toy my brother had in his room as a kid. The elegant motion of the wings of the seagull silhouette was enchanting.The mechanics, again, were surprisingly difficult. However, it was so fun to embelish & satisfying to figure out.

The insect theme is part of a larger body of work, Entropia based on plants & insects native to the American south east. It also gave me the opportunity to layer beautiful paper and make something that is simple, elegant, and an homage to the natural world.
